Hanko has decent API documentation and a sandbox environment, but is fundamentally misaligned with agent autonomy. Its core value—passwordless WebAuthn/passkey authentication—requires user interaction (biometric or device verification) that agents cannot provide. While an API exists for backend integration, account creation and credential management depend on user enrollment flows. The lack of an MCP server, llms.txt, and programmatic signup severely limits agent discoverability and usability. Best suited for human-facing applications rather than agent-native workflows.
